Today is my beansister Tiffany's birthday!
But Tiffany lives in Italy, and she and my mom are so sad they can't be together today. They couldn't be together for my mom's November birthday, or for Christmas, or for New Year's Eve, and now this :-( Tiffany is an only child and my mom was a single parent since Tiffany was 2 years old. They've always been together ....

ReplyDeleteMom's sister-in-law's birthday is the same day. She started a new jobbie on her birthday once, and her husband had called up the place the week before and told them. He asked if everybody could wish her a Happy Birthday, but not tell her how they knew. They did that, and she kept thinking what a wonderful group of people they were. Only when she got home at the end of the day did she find out who was behind it. I think that is so sweet!
Mr Karate is an only child, and Mom was a single parent since he was 4, so we completely understand. Sorta, because he only lives 20 miles away.

ReplyDeleteWe understand very well, our maid is a single child and lives in Tucson, Arizona and her parents live in Germany, where she is originally from! And her parents are too old now to make the long trip - almost 24 hours because the parents don't live anywhere near an airport! So the most they see each other is when the maid can go to Germany -which isn't that often...
We will most certainly email Tiffany! And the maid says she is really thankful for Skype - whatever that means....

Gosh... we wish we spoke Italian to send proper birthday wishes... but plain old "purrs and nose taps" and happyhappy's will have to do. We remember our moms teary eyes when sisterbean was far far away on holidays and at special times: now we are lucky cause she's "right down the road"... anyway... enjoy your day Tiffany...
