This morning I bit my human artist, sank my teeth all the way to the bone ...
I know, I know, a CEO shouldn't assault his employees, but sometimes I just can't help myself. I was just trying to get her out of bed - we have work to do! I didn't mean to hurt her.I have a biting problem. My human artist says this is because I was only one day old when I was rescued, and since I was bottle-fed and had no siblings, I didn't learn from a mamacat not to bite hard, and didn't learn proper social behavior from siblings.
My staff says I have to join Bite-aholics Anonymous and enroll in anger management and stress reduction classes to calm down my CatType A personality. In the meantime, my human artist is telling me her daughter Tiffany had a cat bite just like this when she was young and she ended up in the hospital for two weeks and almost lost her hand. Oh my, I don't want that to happen! I really, really, really am sorry.

Hope your bitee went to the doctors and got on antibiotics right away...if Teri got a bite at work at the cat hospital where she works...she would have to go to the human vets and get on Augmentin usually...cat bites are very serious especially there. You are right about the mommycat (and littermates) teaching their kittens what's socially acceptable when it comes to biting...we see lots of kitties like you where I work and it's sometimes hard to teach them as adults...we hope you can learn though

Oh Rocky,we are shur that she knows you really didn't mean to hert her. She knows your history so we is shur that she will forgive you. but please make her go to the bean v-e-t for shots or something so that she doesn't get a 'fekshun.
ReplyDeleteI got bit really bad by my neighbor's cat about 25 years ago. The cat was in a bad spot and I tried to save her...then the neighbor blamed me for getting bit! What a maroon. Those peeps should never had had pets anyways. They let their dog die in the car. In the summer. Glad they moved. But the shots I had to get were not fun after my arm swelled up very bad. Maybe that is why I am weird now? With all these animals?

Our bites are very bad for humans!
Please be careful, I too ended up in the hospital for 2 weeks with a bite to my hand. And ended up with cat scratch fever after that! Cat bites are very dangerous. Even though I cleaned it thoroughly + went to the doc, the next day I was in the hospital. Good Luck.

Oh Rocky, That's a real hurty for your mom. Tell her if she hasn't already to go to her Dr. and get on some Augmentin. Mom waited 3 days before she went and it took twice as long to get better and Jeannie only bit her one spot. Mom's finger looked like a hotdog it was so swollen.

ReplyDeleteIt's interesting, I used to have a male cat that was bottlefed from an infant and had no siblings, and he was quite a nipper.

ReplyDeleteOuch that looks painful. When our mum used to work for a vet many years ago, he was very strict on his animal nurses keeping up to date with their anti tet. shots. Kitty bites very easily become infected.
ReplyDeleteI used to have a biting problem and wouldn't stop it, then mum started biting me back. Not hard, but enough to make me know I didn't like it.She thinks I didn't realise how much it hurt her.
Oh dear Wocky! I think we both have the same pwobwem! Wet's go to Bite-ahowics Anonymous together! I was tiny when I was wescued too and I also never wearned that I was biting too hard. Most of the time I could contwol mineself, but once in a while, once in a while wike you Wocky, I forget. It's not our fault at all, Wocky!

OOo Ouch...oh Rocky, dat was bad dude. Hope yoor mom haf some aunty-bio-tiks to take. Where mom volunteers if someone gets bited or scratched dey make dem soak it in bleach water right away but dem bites is kinda deep. We know yoo din't mean it but still, whoa.

ReplyDeleteOh gosh - that looks serious! We know you didn't mean it.... Our Anastasia had a claw problem like that - did not know to be careful with those, she was feral. And the staff always forgave her.... We are glad you have an understanding human too! But try and not do it again!
