Switch Off Saturday: Earth Hour

Sunday update: More than 380 towns and cities, 3,500 businesses, and 30 million people in 35 countries switched off their lights last night for Earth Hour 2008. You can read more about it at:

Saturday: I'm out enjoying the sunshine today, because tonight we're doing something very important ... Tonight is Earth Hour, and we're joining millions of people around the world to make a statement about climate change by switching off all our lights and non-essential appliances from 8 p.m. until 9 p.m. Even one light matters and you can make a difference!

What can we do during an hour of darkness? Well, this is the perfect time for us to light candles and send purrs & purrayers to our sick kitty friends and to the heartbroken beans whose furbabies have crossed the Bridge. It can be an hour of caring not only about the Earth, but also about each other!
Please join us in showing that you care about our planet ...
Visit and tonight ... switch off!

Wow we will be turning off the lights at 8:oo tonight also and lighting three candleabras. That is when the curtain goes up to a dark and stormy night in Lapdaddies play he is in. Our home will be dark all night here also because no one is home....but me:(
We always have the lights off anyway and are very conservative in nature because we know the importance of being so.! You guys rock!

This is a furry good idea. We only just heard about it and it's 11pm here so we've missed it local time. We usually stay on the compooter until 1am but we are going to shut down at midnight instead, which will be 8pm EST. We will send purrs and prayers to our sick and departed furrends at that time.

Would have loved to see that. Unfortunately here in Egypt I guess nobody didn't even know about this event.
