Without Mom Wednesday

I, Callie, cannot exist without my human artist mom. See how sad and lonely I am? She has been away visiting friends and their cats, many of whom lived with us before they went to their furrever homes with mom's friends.

First she left me to go visit her friend Terry, who is owned by four cats. Two of them, Rhoda Sue and Taz, lived with us a long time ago. Rhoda Sue is a calico we found yowling and homeless in an alley when she was only 3 weeks old.

Taz, a lynx point meezer, was adopted from a "breeder" when he was 6 weeks old and full of fleas and mites. He earned his name because he was a little Tazmanian Devil!

Then she left me to go visit her friend, Jim. He is owned by only one cat now, Squidler, who is the great-granddaugher of Silvie, a beautiful white angora we rescued as a homeless adult roaming the neighborhood. My mom had to take Silvie over the Rainbow Bridge last year. Squidler is a petite little tabby whose tummy looks like she's trying to be a bengal.

Oh, listen! I hear mom's Jeep now! Should I be peeved and huffy and standoffish to pay her back for leaving me? Or should I meet her at the door with purrs and headbutts? Oh, I can't help myself -- purrs and headbutts it is!

Oh, Callie! You do look very sad and lonely. I'm going to give you a little sandpaper kiss, so you cheer up. On the cheek, of course.

I am for greeting yer Mommie with purrs and headbutts! It is too hard to stay peeved and huffy!

Aw... probably a good day for mom. Visiting is so much fun, and she must had had a very good time seeing her fosterlings... but yes, a very dull and boring day for you.

I think you have the right idea... purrs and headbutts

I'm glad you decided on the purrs and headbutts--always the best way to go. Plus, I bet your mom had fun on her visits.

I also think you made the right choice to go with purrs and headbutts. That will tell Mom you missed her just as well as pouting and it's much more fun.

you looks so sad Callie. Purrs and headbutts was the right fing to do. did it gets you more treats?

Yup purrs and headbutts seem to keep the Beans happy. Yer more likely to get eggstra treats and cuddles if yoo show her yer happy to see her back.

The cat afore Bonnie was furry lonely when Mom & Dad went out, but couldn't stay mad fur more than a few seconds when they camed home. Then she tolded them efurryfing she did while they were gone! Bonnie's reaction is, "Oh. It's you. Feed me." I'm more like, "Oh, hey, you're back; let's play after we eat." Those are lucky cats wif their furefur homes. Taz is handsome.

Thanks for your sympathy over my "weekend of starvation" trauma. I'm just checking back into the blogosphere after spending 4 days eating non-stop to make up for it!

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE (!) can I draw Squidler for my art blog?
(http://sketchandcolour.blogspot.com) - it would mean me putting his picture up on the page, too.
I'd like to put a link to your blog on there too, if that's ok-?
Please let me know!
